I have always had incredibly low self esteem.
I have clinical depression and have been suicidal. 
 
 One day when I was having a particularly bad day, I was walking in the hallway at school and one of the special education boys saw me and said "You look beautiful today!" 
 
 He will never know how much those four words meant to me.
