When I was 5, my mom divorced my biological father.
I spent years trying to win his love and approval. 
 
 When I was 12, my mom remarried to a guy I've known my whole life. 
 
 It took 5 more years to realize that I always had HIS love and approval. 
 
 Dad, when you adopted me your love gave me hope.
